This tour offers various places to explore Tokyo and is perfect
for a one-day getaway. You’ll visit Meiji Shrine, Tsukiji Market
Place and Asakusa Temple. Meiji Shrine is Japan’s most famous
Shinto shrine, dedicated to the Meiji emperor and his wife.
Visitors to the shrine can take part in typical Shinto activities,
such as buying charms and amulets or writing out a wish on an
ema (wooden plaque).
After visiting the Meiji shrine, experience the taste of Japan
at the Tsukiji market. Nicknamed “Tokyo’s kitchen,” Tsukiji is
one of Japan’s largest marketplaces. The streets are lined with
retail shops, restaurants and more. The last stop of this tour will
be Asakusa, where we’ll see the 7th century Buddhist temple,
Sensoji. The temple is approached via the Nakamise, a shopping
street that has been providing temple visitors with a variety
of traditional, local snacks and tourist souvenirs for centuries.
