Tour cost includes bus transportation and admission to Matsumoto
castle. There are 140 steps inside the castle and it can get very
steep. Please take your shoes off inside the castle. There is a lot
of walking involved on this tour.
Matsumoto Castle is one of the four castles designated as a National
Treasure of Japan and one of only 12 original castles remaining in
Japan. Construction began on this 98-foot tower in 1592 during
the Sengoku period. Nicknamed the “Crow Castle,” as you climb
each level you can view armor and weapons from that time period.
One of Japan’s recognizable wasabi farms is Daio Wasabi Farm
located in Azumino. As one of the largest wasabi farms, you’ll be
able to get a detailed look at how this peculiar herb is cultivated.
