Tourists come to Enoshima Island to walk the pathways that lead to several ancient temples, botanical gardens, museums, parks, scenic overlooks and a modern lighthouse at the top of the island. The classic view of Mt. Fuji as depicted on some of the Japanese arts can be seen from the island on clear days. Enoshima is divided into a yacht harbor area and the forested hill which can only be explored on foot and escalators. Several shrine buildings, collectively known as Enoshima Shrine, are found throughout the island. Restaurants and shops can be found throughout the pathway to the Iwaya Caves as well as some of the side streets.
