“Iyashinosato” Japanese Village stands on the site of a former
farming village on the western shores of Lake Saiko. The village
was reconstructed and reopened as an open air museum and
traditional craft village where people can learn about the culture
and different local handicrafts. The village is now made up of
more than twenty houses that have been converted into shops,
restaurants, museums and galleries. The Fuji Kachoen Garden
Park welcomes you with over 30 varieties of feathered friends.
The owl enclosure holds more than 100 owls and most are quite
friendly to people! The park is also home to an extensive selection
of over 10,000 begonias, fuchsias and hydrangeas which are
exhibited at the park. You can enjoy these blooming flowers all
year round. One of the Fuji Caves that has been opened to the
public is the Wind Cave. Its temperature is nearly freezing and
it has ice formations throughout the year that were formed from
water seeping through the ceiling of the cave.
