Tour cost includes bus transportation and admission to the village. This tour does not go to Mt Fuji’s 5th Station. Iyashinosato stands on the site of a former farming village on the western shores of Lake Saiko. The village was reconstructed and reopened as an open air museum and traditional craft village where people can learn about the culture and purchase local handicrafts. The village is now made up of more than twenty houses that have been converted into shops, restaurants, museums, and galleries. Oshino Village is a famous small village in the Fuji Five Lakes region that has a set of eight ponds which are fed by the snow melt from the slopes of nearby Mt Fuji. The snow melt filters down the mountain through porous layers of lava taking over 80 years, resulting in very clear spring water that is revered by the locals. Fuji-Yoshida Sengen Shrine stands in a dense forest and is set off from the road by a long approach lined by stone lanterns and shaded by tall cedar trees, some are said to be as old as 1,000 years. The shrine’s buildings include the main hall, which dates back to 1615. This shrine used to be the common starting point for climbing Mt. Fuji from the north side.

Return 7:30 p.m.
Tour cost includes bus transportation and entrance fee to the Nikko Edo Village. Would you like to meet a samurai? Have you ever seen a ninja inaction? Do you know who Oiran was? Centuries ago, Samurai, Ninja, and Oiran all lived in Edo, the place where Tokyo stands today. As any resident of Japan will tell you, the atmosphere of old Edo has long since evaporated from most of Tokyo, but don’t despair, this former capital of the Tokugawa Shoguns continues to thrive in Nikko Edo Village. Nikko Edo Village is the theme park that reproduces the customs, cultures, and society of Japan’s Edo Period (1603-1867). This is not a museum. Nikko Edo Village is an attempt to produce a faithful re-creation of everyday life in old Edo. Visitors are transformed from mere onlookers into active participants in the daily activities of Edo townsfolk.
